The Complete Idiot's Guide to Vitamins & Minerals

This book was surprisingly good!

While it sticks to mainstream RDAs and doesn’t claim any disease reversals, the book goes into the many documented benefits of the main essential nutrients.

I don’t agree with everything in the book, but it was a very good introduction to basic nutrition. Many books like this are way too short, and many books emphasize a handful of nutrients and neglect the others.

Even if you’re an “idiot”, this book will most likely leave you more knowledgeable about nutrition than your doctor. Even if I disagree with several points in the book, following this text will give you much better results than mainstream medicine.

I do wish this book had a reference section. It gives you basic details about most of the studies mentioned, but not actual citations. I get that this is part of the stripped-down “idiots guide” format, but it would be easy to include references at the end.

I do recommend!
