Healthy at 100 - John Robbins
This book was alright.
I appreciated that the author is aware that many longevity claims are actually exaggerated, so the book isn’t as fanciful as many in this genre.
Though many people and populations are not actually as old as is thought, they still do enjoy remarkable health into old age, and that is what this book explores. So it gives a realistic depiction of the most common “blue zones,” and a good description of the theories about why they live so healthfully into old age.
Having said that, if you are already familiar with these topics, much of the book might be a bit of a drag. It was definitely more long winded than it needed to be. Still, I enjoyed it, even though I found myself skipping some pages.
Overall it’s one of the better blue zone books.
