Nutrition and Vitamin Therapy - Michael Lesser

This is the best book I’ve read so far about nutrition and mental health.

“Therapy” usually refers to psychoanalysis, but this book is all about how nutrients and food affect mood and behavior.

This is an older book and unfortunately, even though most of this is textbook stuff, it is hardly written about today. Today I read plenty about how foods make us sick (physically and mentally), but hardly anything about how nutrients make us well. The heyday of “orthomolecular” treatment (treating with nutrients) was long ago, so you’ll find most of it in books from the 70s and 80s, like this one.

This is definitely worth reading for anyone with any mental health issue, as well as anyone in the health business.
