The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde

I have read this a few times and each time it really makes me think - about human nature, life.

I have no empathy or sympathy for the main characters, but their conversations are very witty, funny, dark, and thought provoking.

I have heard various interpretations of the moral of the story and I am still not sure I understand it, or that it matters much. I feel like Wilde was using this book to vent many of his most searing opinions about the people in his society, and the story itself is inconsequential.

I do recommend it.

PS they have made this into several movies and TV specials. I watched a couple and they were terrible, and all of them have generally very bad reviews. Much better in writing.
