SUPERFREAKONOMICS - Steven Levitt & Stephen Dubner
This book was fantastic.
These authors have never disappointed me, and this is probably their best work yet.
Their first book Freakonomics and this one are both a collection of novel approaches to well known concepts and problems. You don’t really need to read Freakonomics first, but I would recommend reading both in any case.
The authors may not be correct on everything they present and theorize, but they readily admit that their work is more about provoking thought and teaching us how to interpret statistics. Their books are definitely among the easiest statistic based books to understand and enjoy.
I cringed a little bit when they discussed some health and climate topics, but even those chapters were very interesting and enjoyable to read, and the parts I cringed at have nothing to do with their thesis.
These authors deserve their popularity, and I recommend all of their books, as well as the Freakonomics podcast and blog. If you haven’t heard these guys before, you’re in for a real treat.
