The Paleo Diet - Loren Cordain
I was hoping this book would have a lot more detail about natural “paleo” diets.
There was some information, but the book is definitely focused on delivering the protocol rather than justifying it.
I say this because, though we agree very generally with the paleo philosophy, there are important debates about some of the specifics.
This book is widely available, I see it all the time on the used market. And for someone brand new to dieting, the book provides a lot of good advice directed at the novice.
Following the paleo diet will give good general results, particularly short term, but the debated specifics are very important in my opinion, and so this book cannot be taken as gospel.
It is a practical book but in this case I was looking for more archeological evidence and so on, so I was disappointed.
