You're Not Sick, You're Thirsty - F. Batmanghelidj

This book was quite good!

I’ve been saying for years that many people overeat because they don’t drink enough water. Even people I know in the health business often neglect water.

Water is the substrate that everything else takes place in in the body. It sounds too simple but, ensuring a proper water intake can make all the difference.

This book blames a lot of diseases on dehydration, and though I don’t really agree that it is the full root cause in most of those, I certainly agree that dehydration is often involved.

The book also emphasizes the importance of salt, which I strongly appreciate. Hydration requires water AND the water soluble nutrients. Missing either causes dehydration. Dr. Batman claims many dramatic results, mostly just from increased water, and I believe him.

The book isn’t perfect, he seems somewhat amateur when it comes to the other essential nutrients, but overall I think this book is very important. Some of the smallest lifestyle changes can make the biggest difference, and proper water intake is one of them.

I recommend this book.

I also have a dehydration chapter in my book Everything You Should Know About Healthy Blood Sugar. (Low blood sugar and dehydration symptoms are basically the same).
